I am developing a theory on the swine flu, just in case you’re interested. I am fairly convinced that the general public is not being kept well informed on the H1N1 virus, and that is probably a good thing. First we were told that it was the worst thing to happen in 100 years. Then we read nothing about it. Then two weeks later the CDC declared it a pandemic and nobody flinched. Now again there is almost nothing out there about it and then the ‘Roman flu’ goes through Bible Day Camp at church last week…
We had a few of the kids stay home sick from Bible Day Camp. It was kind of odd. By the end of the week we had about 12 kids home sick (almost 10 % of the total crew), and a few adults were sick as well. It wasn’t a big deal but every single person was down for about two days with a headache, body ache, mild fever, then you’re fine. I wonder if that was it! Was that the swine flu?
The general public would probably freak if it was announced that there were more cases of the illness in circulation but I have never seen something so consistent infect absolutely everyone in a small population like that. Everyone in my family has had it for exactly two days. I am now just getting over it and Daniel and Jacob are on their last day.
Everyone on the teen mission trip seems to have had it or is having it. I just hope we are all done with it before we go in a few days. The last thing I want to do is carry it up to Thessalon with us and infect the whole town. Who knows?
